Teck Cominco COO resigns, effective Dec. 15 - Update

(RTTNews) - Teck Cominco Ltd. (TCK, TCK-A.TO, TCK-B.TO), a diversified resource company, announced the resignation of Peter Kukielski, its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective December 15, 2008. The company said Kukielski was leaving to pursue a new opportunity.
During his tenure, Kukielski was involved in the corporate restructuring of the company, which led to the formation of five new strategic business units. Each strategic business unit is led by a senior executive, who will be responsible for the performance of the unit.
The Vancouver, Canada-based Teck Cominco is involved in the mining and mineral development with major business units focused on copper, metallurgical coal, zinc, gold and energy.
